Day 5 – Life From God’s View

James 4:14
whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

How you define your life determines your destiny. Your perspective will influence how you spend your time, spend money, use your talents, and value your friendships.

Everyone views their life differently,
“Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God.”

Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

3 Metaphors God’s View of Life
1) Life on earth is a Test
Testing your faith, obedience, love, integrity, and loyalty
God’s tests –
Abraham by asking him to offer his son Isaac.
Jacob when he had to work extra years to earn Rachel as his wife.
Adam and Eve at the Garden of Eden.
Hezekiah when God withdrew from him.
David on several occasions.
We will always be tested. Everyday is an important day, every second is a growth opportunity to deepen your character, demonstrate love, or depend on God.

1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

James 1:12
Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

2) Life on earth is Trust
God is the owner of everything!

Psalm 24:1
The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.

Genesis 1:28
Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

We as human are to manage and take of his creation and we are supposed to be his trustees of his property.

1 Corinthians 4:7
For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

1 Corinthians 4:2
Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.

How well do you handle what God entrusted you with?
money is both a test and a trust from God. We should use finances to show God to trust us.

Luke 16:11
Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous Mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

Luke 12:48
But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.

Our time, energy, intelligence, opportunities, relationships, and resources are all gifts God entrusted to our care and management.

3) Life is a Temporary Assignment

Point to Ponder: Life is a test and a trust
Verses to Remember: Luke 16:10 – He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.
Question to Consider: What has happened to me recently that I now realize was a test from God? What are the greatest matters God has entrusted to me?
I believe I am in a test now with trying to have another baby. Every month I feel as though I have failed, but it often ends in “I must trust you Lord, for you know when the plan is right. you know the details of my life before I was even born. I should give all this to you.”

Another thing is emotions. I try really hard to not peel the layers of my emotions off, but it happens. Just like with my car. Every time I get so excited to get my car back and something happens. It seems we take a lot of steps back before taking one forward. I sometimes get emotional, but regain my focus and remember everything is in His plan. Who knows the reason for why it happens, but He knows.

God entrusts me with everything I handle, even my emotions, and the material things around me.
