2013 in review

Sorry I have been MIA on updating you guys with everything that is going on in my world. A lot of new things are happening, as well as a lot of bad, but we never give up praying. We have huge news coming in 2014, so just bare with us! I can’t wait to get back to updating you guys on our journey. Jade is still dealing with food allergies, and I am learning to adjust to the new way of living. I am even teaching myself how to cook (I know, don’t freak out). I have cooked Spinach Artichoke Dip, Banana Pudding (even if it was instant with real bananas Again, don’t judge me) hahahah!! 😉
I am also getting ready to pack again, but you will just have to wait to figure out why!
Since August 2013,  I have started a Food Allergy Support group for our area: West Georgia Food Allergy Support Group. Our first meeting is the 21st and I am so nervous! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us. When Jade was diagnosed I didn’t realize how many people was so unaware of food allergies, even for myself. I am now pushing with all the other food allergy awareness that epipen training should be like CPR training, and should be mandatory. Did you know that bus drivers in our area are not properly trained? However, as of 2014 they will be! My voice is being heard, and I am so excited about making a difference.

Anyway, I will leave you with this note:
“Never give up hope, always trust in Him, and everything else will fall into place. If people walk out of your life, then hold your head high and smile, because you can show them you can make a difference rather they are with you or not.” — From Me!

I wish you all the best in 2014 and I will be back, so hold your horses! And for the ones who have been checking on us, thank you!

God Bless You in everything you do!
Jenna

11 Questions from Jodie aka Not Pretending (to be sane)

I don’t ever remember pretending to be like anyone. I was an only child, so I had my imagination with stuffed animals.

    The Choice by Nicholas Sparks
  5. Who was/is your favorite teacher, and why?
My favorite teacher was Coach Kribbs, he was my History teacher. I think the reason why he was my favorite is because he helped me with my Graduation Exam, he took the time to sit down with me and make sure I passed the history part of it, and I will always be grateful for that.
  6. Besides writing, tell us about one of your other talents.
I like to craft. I just started back sewing. I also like re-doing furniture. You can see those under “projects” in my categories.

I wasn’t even thought of it, and my Mom wasn’t either.
  8. You wrote a novel about your life growing up, and now Hollywood is making a movie based on that novel. Which actor/actress would you want to play you, and why?
I have no clue, but they would have to be pretty spacey and random to play a part of me 😉
  9. What was your favorite TV show when you were in grade school?  What about now?
Friends! Oh, I miss that show, I even catch reruns sometimes, and I will eventually own all the seasons.

10 Random Questions/Facts About Me:

  1. What technology scares you?
You know finding out that new phones have a tracking app. That is kinda creepy, unless you’re a child, but still creepy in my book. If you don’t trust the person you are with… then move on.
  2. How do I like to be awakened in the morning?
I like to wake up on my own, unless Jade comes busting through. Usually when she comes in and wakes me up I wake up smiling. She usually says the weirdest stuff in the mornings.
  3. What are you grateful for everyday?
Waking up, Jade, Hubby, Family, Friends, Lights, Sun, Rain, Food… everything?
  4. What was your favorite TV show growing up?
Friends! I can still sit down and watch it, even if it is a re-run
  5. What food is too much work for you to eat?
I would have to say a steak. There is just so many times I can chew one bite.
  6. What do you like about your job?
Being a stay at home mom, I get to see all Jade’s first. I get to help mold her, and teach her the basics of life. I like the fact that I have my own time, but yet love spending time with her.
  7. If you had an extra room in your house what would it be used for?
Probably toys, so a play room of sorts. A play room/craft room. And if we got pregnant again I would make it a nursery.
  8. What show have you recently watched?
I am such a TV junkie. Hubby and I just started watching Numb3rs from the 1 Season. We are only on Episode 3.
  9. I have never flown. Never left the southeast actually.
  10. Trying to lose weight is like sitting at a baseball game with an unlimited buffet of peanuts. I love food, it is my comfort, and I need to fix this asap, but hey I have 4lbs and how I gained 6 lbs I have no clue.. but I am going to Zumba 2x a week!

1 Year Blogaversary

Oh my, it has been ONE year since I have started this journey (a few hours early but hey… I am celebrating early). I have grown so much in a year it is unreal.

In the beginning, I didn’t know where this would go, or where to begin really, but I did find out I am best at writing my thoughts out, not only does it help clear my head, but it often puts peace within my heart.

You guy have seen me go through phases with my Step-dad, Jade’s adventures, weight loss journey, death in the family, bugs in my bed, and learning to grow as a person.

Thank you for being here for me.
