Thankfulness Through All

We should give thanks to God for everything.
“Give thanks in all circumstances.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18

By giving thanks to God for everything it shows me how much I have been through and has shown me how much God brought in my life because of all the thing I have thanked him for.

By going through my moms divorce I can give thanks to God for showing me how much strength a child needs, or a family needs during such a horrible event. It has shown me how much it takes of a child, how much the child has to grow up, not because of being alone, but having to be there for the parent.

A divorce is more than just the husband and wife. A divorce is something that affects everyone. Now-a-days people take a marriage for granted and if it is not “meant to be” then they just trash it and get another one. Going through such a horrible event I, myself, have seen how much it tears people apart even though they don’t talk about it.
Friends can try to be there for one another, but if a friend has never been through the situation then one can not “relate”.

Going through this event has opened my eyes to what is real and what is not. Giving thanks that I was in that situation that I can help others overcome, and be that listening ear for once I was in their shoes wishing for someone to hear me.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, wish thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
– Philippians 4:6

Be thankful for the rain as it brings out the flowers and makes everything so green.

Starting your day by being thankful can help lighten the load on your heart.

Happy Thankful Thursday!

Get Fit

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.  ~II Timothy 1:7

“Every athlete who goes into training conducts himself temperately and restricts himself in all things” (I Corinthians 9: 25, emphasis mine.) The word all is a difficult concept for us to grasp.
We need to live in a disciplined life, physically, spiritually, and emotionally, if we want to enjoy God’s plan for us. The fruit of the Spirit is well-control, and the fruit of the flesh is no control.
Paul said, “I buffet my body [handle it roughly, discipline it by hardships] and subdue it, for fear that after proclaiming to others the Gospel and things pertaining to it, I myself should become unit [not stand the test, be unapproved and rejected as a counterfeit].” ~I Corinthians 9:27

3Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived.
4Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it.
5Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it; let a cloud dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it.
6As for that night, let darkness seize upon it; let it not be joined unto the days of the year, let it not come into the number of the months.
7Lo, let that night be solitary, let no joyful voice come therein.
8Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to raise up their mourning.
9Let the stars of the twilight thereof be dark; let it look for light, but have none; neither let it see the dawning of the day:
10Because it shut not up the doors of my mother’s womb, nor hid sorrow from mine eyes.
11Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?
12Why did the knees prevent me? or why the breasts that I should suck?
13For now should I have lain still and been quiet, I should have slept: then had I been at rest,

15Or with princes that had gold, who filled their houses with silver:
16Or as an hidden untimely birth I had not been; as infants which never saw light.
17There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest.
18There the prisoners rest together; they hear not the voice of the oppressor.

21Which long for death, but it cometh not; and dig for it more than for hid treasures;
22Which rejoice exceedingly, and are glad, when they can find the grave?
23Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, and whom God hath hedged in?
24For my sighing cometh before I eat, and my roarings are poured out like the waters.
