Raining on my Emotions

This weekend has been amazing! Not only did I get to spend some time with my Hubby but with my family, and his. Saturday, we watched football and root on our team, till it became 21-0 and we was winning, so we scooted outside to clean up trash, and other things so when the rain wouldn’t be washing everything off the porch, and out into the yard, even including about 10 or so flower pots. (Which I need to bring in one of the bigger ones to replant a flower for the inside). I also got to get a Vera Bradley purse for $5, oh yes, I did ๐Ÿ™‚ haha! It is really cute too.

Monday, we were at my moms most of the day. It rained most of the day Sunday, all day Monday and we had a lot of Tornado Warnings for our area. (I always love watching the weather, it is like a thrill of mine. I love to see where the “rotation” is going. I don’t get worried, but I do get excited, weird much? I say. haha) Also, my mom made Turkey Chili! Can you say, YUM!?

I can say that I also figured out I gained 8 pounds this weekend. I told yall about me gaining the 5 pounds with the medicine I was on for my infections, but they gave me a new prescription, but that 5 pounds weight gain put me in a funk, and now I added 3 pounds to it ๐Ÿ˜ฎ I have decided P90x 2x a day and my elliptical before bed should helped with that 8 pound gain, right? ๐Ÿ™‚

How was your holiday weekend?

Weekly Photo Challenge: Colorful

My flowers bloomed!!!!

To some of you who may not know. I usually have a brown thumb. This year I was bound to grow flowers, and I have made it happen! ๐Ÿ™‚ (Lisa you should be proud – also, I don’t know why they turned out kinda blurry, kinda makes me sad)

Groundhog Day

So, I was sitting here writing my PostADay, just minding my own business, typing away, than my dogs outside start barking like mad dogs, my daughter is screaming at the window yelling at me, “WHATS THAT MOMMY!!!”

I drop what I do and I scoot on over to the window, look outside and there is an animal in my yard! This thing is chasing my cats, WHAT IN THE WORLD! I grab my camera and just wonder myself right on the porch. I watch him for a second, then realize there is a beaver in my yard!

I take the camera back in the house, grab my phone, my heart is racing through the roof, my hands are shaking, and I start calling Lisa! I am like panicking.

Lisa, “Get the water hose and squirt him!”
Me, “Lisa, I am NOT getting off this porch!”
Lisa is laughing
I start laughing
~The groundhog runs after the cat~
~I scream~ “OMGGGG!!!! He is chasing my cat!”
Me: “Lisa, WHAT AM I GOING TO DOOOOO!!??”
Lisa: “GET THE WATER HOSE AND SPRAY HIM!”
~Watching the little bugger, he is only about 5ft away from me, the water hose is like 15 ft away from me~
At this point the groundhog is walking around my flowers, and I walk to the edge of the porch~
Me, “Heyyyyy lil creature.”
~Groundhog walks closer to me~
Now lil stunt guy is beside the house, about 3 ft from me.
Me: “Lisa, I think it is going to go under the house!”
Lisa, “Well, Tell Savoy when he gets home.”

My cat doesn’t know what to think! (Either did I)
Around this tree is my next project ๐Ÿ™‚ Another flower bed!

Well, I eventually called Hubby and well, he didn’t seem as surprised as me. I now have a groundhog under my house ๐Ÿ˜ฎ A groundhog that doesn’t seem to like my cats.

I had this post already in my draft box yesterday. It got so busy around the house that I didn’t have time to post ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I, however, thought the groundhog to be a beaver instead. It sure looked close to a beaver, and plus I have never seen a groundhog! ha! Yeah, hubby was amazed I have been sheltered from such.

A Date Night

Hubby and I ventured out yesterday (Friday). Before we went out I was working in my yard. Hubby kept telling me I need to hurry we have bad weather coming through. Well, BLAH! I wanted to get all this done, since I have more of my flowerbeds done, now I just need to get to weeding out grass. While I was planting some more monkey grass, hubby was helping with making the holes bigger, and dividing it up so I can just place it in the hole and cover it up. I got halfway done with my 22 holes and it starts thundering, the more times it thunders, the closer it gets. I was hurrying up, throwing the grass in the hole, getting dirt and placing it in there. I don’t think I have moved that fast in a long time. When I went to stand up, it felt like I was going to fall over. I don’t guess you need to be leaning over for too long, ha!
Anyway, we got half of them in Hubby ran Jade in, gave her a bath. As I walked to the house I could feel my phone falling from my boobs. UGH! My hands where full, a drink, wow I can’t even remember everything I had, hahaha! Yeah, so I stopped in the hallway and told hubby to save my phone. (I forgot I put my phone between my boobs). Hubby starts joking around about it and tossed my phone in his chair and took back off to help Jade in the tub. I got me something to eat (since I didn’t eat breakfast and I took my diet pill, not a good combo), filled up my drink, grabbed my phone and went outside to wait for them to get out of the bathroom so I can get my shower and get ready to go to the movies.
As I sat outside I looked at my phone, tried to turn it on, because it often just goes off by itself. I had no luck getting it to turn on. At this point I feel like everything isn’t going right. My phone is being stupid, my flowers are not all planted, and I still have to get a shower before the storm moves in. I watch the clouds and try to fix my phone, taking it apart, putting it back together, beating it, lol! I finally stood up to take it to hubby. While I stood up, the chair I was sitting in fell off the porch, due to a little gust of wind and my legs pushed it back since I stepped back before going forward.
I gave my phone to my hubby and he put my sim card in his phone, handed me his phone and tried to fix my phone. (No Luck with my phone, Hubby says it has gone loopy! and for good this time) Sigh.
I finally get a shower, get out. I don’t even flat iron my hair. As I was drying my hair the storm started. You could hear the wind howling, lightning popping and the thunder rolling. I got half of my hair dried when I went to look out the living room window, right in time to see the lightning hit in the yard. It was a nasty storm, you can see pictures of what it did to Life’s Little Slices garden since she just lives 5 miles from me.
We get to Lisa’s house; leave Jade and head on our way to see X-men. I have to say I liked the movie. It brought everything together from the other movies. Some parts were corny, but what movie now-a-days doesn’t have corny crap in it? It was definitely a lot of action, and it was really worth it for me. After the movie I ask hubby where were going to eat, and he takes me McDonald’s, so I super size it, LOL! JK!! He did take me to McDonald’s though.ย  Not much on my diet, but I did only eat half of the burger, and half of the fries. ๐Ÿ™‚ So, I did pretty good.

This Weekend; so far

It has been a clumpy weekend so far.

I went to the Doctor on Friday; got 5 meds I have to take, sometimes 2x a day.
I have allergy medicine to take at night, antibiotics for kidney infection take 2x a day, diet pill, nose spray (take 2x a day), and another one to treat another infection. It is like an ongoing thing. With taking all these at once I seem to be pretty out of it, not like sleepy, but my emotions are at the end. Everything is getting to me.

I worked in my landscaping project yesterday. While I was digging holes to plant my “monkey grass” I noticed the dirt was clumpy and rocky looking. I really didnโ€™t pay attention till I had 15 holes dug and was already trying to plant my grass in the hole. I was sitting down trying to break up the clumpy pieces and it was like trying to break rocks. Husband looked me at me and he was like, “Nice going. You decided to put your flower bed in sandstone dirt.” Well, I continued to try to break up the pieces, trying to find the moisture clumps and failing at everything I grab. I gave up after it was taking me 10 minutes to plant one batch of grass. I walked away from it, seeing my project was draining away. It is at these times where you start asking yourself why everything you touch has to fall apart or never seem to work. I sat on the porch and thought about it over and over.

As I was sitting and thinking what I am going to do, Hubby walks by with the water hose. He looks at me and asks for me to cut the water on. I simply look at him and tell him no that I was resting. (Remember I have been working in my project. I went back forth about 12 times laying the grass at each hole. I got 2 of them in the holes took 10 minutes each, so I am resting).

Well, Hubby has starting getting smart with me and blah, blah, blah. I tried to tune out most of it, because it is the only thing I know to do sometimes. So, I am still sitting on the steps, looking at my landscaping wondering where I could get nicer dirt at. I need dirt that isn’t trying to form into rocks. I am looking away from hubby (he is watering the chickens). Next thing I know Hubby is now spraying me down with the water hose. UGHHH!! I got so mad. Now I have mud dripping off me, because I have been working in the dirt for awhile. I was so mad I was now in tears. I picked up my phone and walked off. I needed to cool off, gather my brain, and try again.

I went walking for awhile, about 30 minutes or so, give or take, or take and give. I got back to my project Hubby helped me put my grass in the holes, I covered them up, made sure all the hard clumps where out and we finally got it done. I stayed outside and watered my flowers as it got darker by night. It was so peaceful during that time; it was like I could think clearly and figure out what I had to do next.

So, my next thing is… is to get something to mix with the dirt so it wonโ€™t dry out so much.

Here in the south it is hard to find something that will help stay moisturized. You are looking at the temperature being in the high 90s, humid, and pollen counts through the roof. One idea is getting potting soil to mix with the dirt and then getting mulch to cover the top.

I still got some thinking to do, but I need to get outside and get my doors done. I shall return later. ๐Ÿ™‚

Grab your tissue, listen

Weight-Loss Update!

Most of my readers know I was going through a hard time in May. Dealing with just normal battles that gets thrown at you. I did manage to lose another 6lbs!!! OMG. I was so grateful to have lost weight. It was such a rough month for me. I have, however, have lost 19lbs since the beginning!!! Beginning of which was April. I am down to 172 ๐Ÿ™‚ I am soooo happy!! I will be taking my “diet-pill” through this month as well. Which I am thankful for! Also, I went to the doctor to tell him about my allergies. I haven’t been able to breathe, my throat is itchy, Im coughing like you got something caught in your throat, it is horrible… Well, I ask before I leave if I could have a shot. He told me No. I then begged him, he looked at me and said, nope, the shot will make you gain weight. Hmmmph! Well that solved that, so I did get some pills though, I am hoping it will help and I sure as heck dont need anything that will make me gain weight :/
On some more important news…

My Pawpaws Birthday was yesterday. I called him to wish him a happy birthday, least I thought so. I got told that they went in and had to “scoop” out a growth in his bladder, which is cancer, but we wont know which kind till next week. They don’t think it will be anything serious, but they will still send it off. It didn’t have roots or any attention to spread. So, I called Pawpaw today to tell him I did call, and glad to hear he is back home and doing well. He wasn’t in the hospital long, just a few hours, but anything can be worrisome. So that just added to my “month” of bad things happening. But of course I will pray that all this will end, maybe eventually I can even breath again.

Ohhhh, on a good note. I did work out in my “landscaping” today. It was nice to get outside and watch my work come to life. I just need to transplant some more “monkey grass” (thats what we call it here in the south). Till Tomorrow my friends.

Endless Nights With Toilet Paper

ย Today, as I was sweating from my pores, while sitting in the house of course my nose starts to run. It seems my allergies just come and go as they please, usually ending up on the days that I am suffering. Suffering from heat or other problems that go on in my life. So, now before I bed I will grab my toilet paper, pillow, and sheet to lay in front of the air conditioning as it blows in my face. This somehow helps pull the pressure off my cheek bones, and I can eventually drift off into the endless night of sleep, unless of course my legs starts to ache, or my nose starts to drain. I will, however, pull a sheet of toilet paper off the roll and form it into a small rectangle, just big enough to fit in my nostril as I lay my head down on my pillow. This keeps me from sniffling or my nose draining down my face or making my pillow wet. I have took my Benadryl that really isn’t working. I have took a shower to stand in the mist of the hot water, trimmed my nose hairs, now just getting off here to slide in my bed next to my hubby. I hope you have a good night as I have the happy sniffles til I dose off into the night.

We all need a good Hoe

I have been telling you guys about my projects I have been doing. I found my camera and finally got done hoeing the grass to make the shape of the landscaping. Now I am waiting on my mulch, and the plastic lining. I’m not done completely yet, but here are some pictures of my progress. Sorry I haven’t posted anything in awhile, but been busy with the outside, and spending time with hubby as much as I can.
On another thought. I hope my readers have had a wonderful weekend. I hope it wasn’t as hot where you are, as it was here. It was so hot here you could have wringed me out and hung me on the clothesline to dry.

I did most of this by myself ๐Ÿ™‚ WOOHOO!! A garden hoe, shovel, and a rake. Who says a woman can’t do things?
