Invest In Someone

I look through this book that sits on my desk every once in awhile, just wondering what it says for today.

The wicked borrow and pay not again [for they may be unable], but the [uncompromisingly] righteous deal kindly and give [for they are able].
– Psalm 17:21

Take chances today and invest in someone else’s life, especially if God tells you to do so. You may give them something of value only to learn they waste it as they have always done in the past. But remember that God made an investment in you, and He wants you to be willing to an investment in somebody else.
Jesus died to give everybody a chance. Not everyone takes advantage of His provision, but we all have an equal opportunity to enjoy the abundant of life. If you help someone, and they end up not doing what is right with it, that is between them and God. Give thanks that you are able to give, and then do whatever God tells you to do.

Balance Is Safety

So everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts upon them [obeying them] will be like a sensible (prudent, practical, wise) man who built his house upon the rock. – Matthew 7:24

Being out of balance open the door for the devil to rob people of the good life. The devil tempts to live in excess and extremes. He pushes some to be workaholics and others to be lazy, whichever works to keep them unproductive. He drives some to seek wealth above God, and convinces others that poverty in godliness.
I believe that the only safe life is a balanced life. And a balanced life is obtained by keeping its priorities in line with God’s truth. Build your life on solid, safe ground by praying to God and listening to His plan for you.

Plant Purposefully
Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scored disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside). [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God]. For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap. – Galatians 6: 7

Choose carefully what you sow through your words and actions, and plant only what you want to reap. “For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life” – Galatians 6: 8
Everything you do, all day long, is an opportunity to sow good seeds, or bad ones, that can be drastically change things in your life. Get an early start in sowing only what you want to come back to you.

Love isn’t Touchy

Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own right or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. – I Corinthians 13:5

The Bible says that God’s love in us is not touchy. If we wear our emotions on our sleeve all the time, we may need to spend more time in His presence before we face the day. Our tears can provoke sympathy, but it is better to be a giver instead of a taker all the time.
Starting your day with God will keep you “sweetened up” and full of confidence. As you enjoy His gentleness and kindness, you will be built up in your spirit and better able to overlook the offenses of others. Ask God to give you a strong heart, one ready to love people today as He does.

“The woman you put here with me – she gave me some fruit from the tree and I ate it” (Gen. 3:12; Emphasis added)
Translated: “If you hadn’t put this woman in my life, none of this would have happened!”

And in that moment, something very significant began.
In the beginning Adam blamed God for his troubles, and mankind has been blaming God ever since. From our vantage point, we can see what’s really going on. Adam is simply refusing to accept responsibility for his behavior. And when anyone refuses to accept responsibility for his behavior, he goes looking for somebody to blame. Adam chose God. So do we.

We all struggled to reconcile the realities of suffering and injustice with the idea of a sovereign and just God. And from Genesis forward, God has taken the rap for all that is evil in this world. “The woman you put here with me…” becomes The accident you allowed to happen. The disease you refused to heal. The break you refused to give me. And on and on we go. But just as Adam’s rationale was flawed, so is ours.

Are you blaming God?

Worship Wednesday…
Before I get started I wanted to say I am sorry for not posting, or commenting yesterday, or really I have been slacking. As you know one of our dogs died, and well Jade is now sick, so I had to take her to the Doctor yesterday as I was up till 5am yesterday morning. Okay, now lets get on track! 🙂

A gentle tongue (when its healing power) is a tree of life. – Proverbs 15:4

The Bible says if a person can control his speech, he can curb his nature:
“For we all stumble and fall and offend in many things. And if anyone does not offend in speech (never says the wrong things), he is fully developed character and a perfect man, able to control his whole body and to curb his entire nature.
– James 3:2
No one is completely mature with the Lord, so there is always room for improvement. If your mouth is out of control, other areas of your life will also be out of control. Give your speech to God today. Ask Him to direct the words you speak, and allow Him to fill your mouth with words of life that lift up everyone around you. – Joyce Meyer

Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.” – Matthew 6:1

Translation:
“Be careful that you don’t do your charitable giving before men, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.”

You should not want to go to church to look good for others. You should want to do right/righteous through Christ. You shouldn’t let the negative have an influence in who you are or what you stand for. We do want to have the right kind of influence on everyone around us, we should not make our decisions about spiritual beliefs due to being seen by others to be honored because of it. We should be honoring and trusting the God.

We should walk and talk, not only in church, but wherever you shall be. Don’t act as one thing, but yet leave church and act as another. You should be true to what you believe in, inside or outside your home.

16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. – Colossians 3:16

God Almighty, thank you for giving us music! Singing moves my heart and inspires me to action. I ask that in every song that I find myself worshiping will be active in my heart to inspire me to holy living, ministry, and compassion. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
