Weight-loss Plan

When I first started my weight-loss journey people would often ask ‘what diet I was doing or starting’. So, here you go how I am loosing weight, my own style.

1. I watch what I eat. (not just it going into my mouth) I watch my calories. I eat Lean Cuisines/Smart Ones/grilled vegetables. I try to not take in more than 300 calories for lunch. Breakfast is a small bowl of cereal, or a banana. Snack is a sweet. Supper is something simple, but sometimes not, just depends.
I don’t like how people find a diet and think it will work for them. I wanted something I do myself, without getting rid of everything I love to it. I believe the biggest thing in loosing weight is self-control.

2. Eat sweets before 6pm, so that way your body has time to get the sugar out of your system. If you go to bed with sugar in your stomach than your body is resting, your body then stores the extra sugar as fat.
What!? I can have sweets?? OH YES! But don’t over do it.

3. Drink tea, flavored water, or diet sodas. I have really cut back on sodas, but sometimes I crave them. At least with a diet drink it is 0 calories and just drink it before 6pm (remember sugar). Also, if I get a 20 oz bottle, I will not drink the whole thing. Also, I can not drink plain water. I get sick to my stomach. So, you can packets to pour into your water. 0 grams of sugar, and only 5 calories per glass! Fruit Punch, Grape, Blackberry Grape, and the energy packs are my favorite! 🙂 Yummy to my tummy, haha!

4. Workout – elliptical/Wii/Outside
I try to workout for an hour on the Wii then 15-20 minutes at night on the elliptical. I also watch calories then try to burn half of the calories I take in that day. Example: If I take in 1000 Calories then I try to burn 500 calories. That would be 30 minutes on the elliptical. I know sometimes it is hard to track your calories as with being a SAHM I tend to forget to write down my calories. I use to use Sparkpeople but never really took the time to learn the website, but it does have a great way to watch your calories and keep track of exercise 🙂

So, now you know what I do. Nothing hard, nothing out of the ordinary, but you can do it too!

I do take a diet pill, but just so you know I lost between 5-8 pounds before I even went to the doctor to help me. When I first started my weight-loss I was 198 pounds. I had no energy, what so ever. That is the reason I reached out for help. Here I am 4 months or so later and 30 pounds lighter. I don’t take the diet pill everyday. I take it for 3 months, then off for 3 months.

People who start loosing weight buy a scale and stand on it religiously, well I don’t. I do not weight myself till I go to the Doctor for a check up on my weight loss. I don’t want to disappoint myself with looking at a scale if I gained 1 pound one day! I believe that you can weigh yourself maybe 1x a month, but your body will gain and loose weight. Don’t get discouraged if you gain a few pounds, just keep doing what you are doing. Your body is adjusting 🙂

Anyone could lose weight, all they have to do is figure out if it is really important to them. 🙂 I hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday!!

Good luck with this! I’ve been wanting to get more exercise in and lose some weight, but I use the “I’m a SAHM” crutch to hold me back from reaching my goals. Glad to see you take charge of your weight loss; might be the inspiration I need to “jump-start” mine. 😉 I’ve got a SparkPeople profile too (under the same name); I love that I can search for house-cleaning activities like vaccumming, and add it to my weight loss activity! LOL Well, it helps me do more around the house at least, cuz I look at it and see all the activity I could add to my fitness, y’know what I mean? 😉 Kudos for having a plan, & I wish you luck in achieving your goal!

    • It is hard to do with being a stay at home mom. This month has been so hard on me and I don’t know why. I need to whip it into shape and do what I have to do, so I know I will feel and look better. You can do it, too. 🙂 I need to check my SparkPeople. I haven’t been on there in awhile and yeah you can even add other chores, haha!! I will definitely look you up once I get on there!

Moderation is absolutely the key! For the most part I follow a healthy diet. However, if I want something sweet I don’t deprive myself. I simply eat it in moderation and include it in my calorie count for the day. Then I work out for about 30 minutes. 1200 calorie diet plus a 30 minute exercise routine=guaranteed weight loss. (unless you have health issues) A friend once asked me what my secret was and I said the secret is that there is no secret!

    • I fully agree! My intake right now is 1500 calories, but as I lose weight I have to lower my calories 🙂 gradual pull myself down instead of jumping head first. Love the “no” secret!! Thanks for coming by to read and comment 🙂

Good for you!! I am with you. I am on just about the same diet as you. I watch what I eat, drink tons and tons of water and occasionally tea, I work out and lift weights with my hubs. My hubs does body building competitions and counts every single calorie and cannot eat the food he really enjoys when he is in his cutting stage in prep for the competitions. It sucks for him some days. I refuse to give up everything I love eating!! I cannot let myself step on the scale on a daily basis, I’d rather see how my clothes fit and go by that. Best luck in your weight loss journey!

  5. Watch your intake, daily exercise and plenty of water. Everything in moderation and you won’t go far wrong.

Wish I’d take my own advice 🙂

  7. Great post, and I am doing EVERYTHING you are doing minus the 2x’s a day workout (I only do 1/2 hour a night on the treadmill) and no pills or pop.

I am getting discouraged though, I started this “weight loss adventure” on May 2nd and have only lost 19 pounds, and my weight fluctuates like crazy….sure I don’t get to exercise everyday, but I still watch what I eat dammit, I’ve been to a couple of parties and drank…..man that really adds the poundage.

I am seeing the DR tomorrow and I am going to ask for his advice and maybe he can give me pills heh

    • Sometimes I dont workout, which is my down fall. However, working out on the Wii is what I love!! My daughter does it with me 🙂 and drinking beer is the worse… your body automatically throws it in the fat range. My doctor told me if you are going to drink make sure it is straight liquor and no mixed drinks 🙂 maybe you should try that? and wtg on 19lbs!! That is wonderful! Keep it up Mr T 🙂 You are doing amazing. The diet pills are amazing! The first 3 days I had so much energy and I never craved food. I had to make myself eat. You should really see if he can help you. I am only doing my diet pill to help myself find my energy again and it did. It helped a lot. Keep me update on how it goes.
